Chicken Foot - Chicken Foot

Chicken Foot is the definition of the term super group. The band is made up of a veritable who’s who in the music business. Fronted by Sammy Hagar the band also includes ex- Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, Guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani and drummer extraordinaire Chad Smith. Collectively known as Chicken Foot these guys have put together one hell of a selt-titled disc. As one would imagine from a group of musicians of this caliber the playing is nothing short of stellar and the songs are finely crafted works of art.

Quite honestly, I feel that this disc could be used as a study of what a good hard rock/metal record should sound like. The songs are up beat, catchy and immediately radio friendly, lending themselves to being played really loud while driving really fast in your car..  From a production standpoint, this album is flawless. It is big, it is polished and it sounds out of this world.

After many spins in my player, I can pretty much say that I dig every song on this disc. In fact, the more I listen to it the more I like it. Each time I listen through, I find different nuances and subtleties that just make this disc so incredible. Each one of these musicians has turned in top-notch performances, which are just astounding. I am particularly amazed by the performance turned in by Sammy Hagar; even after all these years his voice sounds incredible.

Bottom line, this is an exceptional disc. I realize that may sound jaded as I am a big fan of this type of music and I am also a fan of each of the individual musicians, but quite honestly this disc kicks some serious ass. You owe it to yourself to give this one a spin, it is that good.
