Ministry - Adios Puta Madres
Industrial fans lookout! Al Jourgensen and Ministry are back and better than ever with their latest release, Adios, and let me tell you, this is one hell of a disc. I have been a fan of Ministry from the very beginning and “Jesus Built My Hotrod” is one of my favorite songs. Adios is the classic sound that is well loved by so many; it is the sound that catapulted them to the top of the many years ago. and is a dazzling and thunderous display of quintessential Ministry. While the band hasn't deviated from their formula much their growth as songwriters and musicians over the years is apparent.
Muscular, detailed and pissed off as hell this is an ultra-violent album full of aggression, but hey, sometimes a bit of aggression is good for what ails you, it can help you blow off some steam after a long day at the office and that can be a good thing.
As has been the case with previous Ministry releases, they always seem to be timely and current, usually tackling subjects that are sore spots in the American consciousness, and Adios is no different. This is especially evident in the tune, No W, which is riddled with George W Bush sound bites that add fuel to the scathing attack.
The song that I really dug the most is Khyber Pass, mainly because of its mesmerizing groove laced with Native American chants that become almost hypnotic. This is a very cool tune.
Adios is a long overdue, eagerly awaited CD that I would highly recommend to fans of heavy music.
