We will hopefully be unveiling v3.0 this summer. We are currently hard at work coming up with prototype layouts. Our main goals...

1. Speed
2. Usability
3. Looks

We plan on getting rid of some of the junk we don't, and user don't use a lot, and want to focus 100% on community. We had some questions and want to know feedback from all you ravenous fans out their what you would like to see.

Post some ideas...

One question we were toying with is drop down menus. Easy to use, just wondering what others thought. It would basically be put in place to remove the submenu under the main one. This frees up about 20pixels that push the content down currently.

So, do you think drop downs would be good or leave a sub menu?

Either is fine with me, so I would suggest doing whatever is easier for you guys.

This is a metal forum, so everything should be black. Yes, EVERYTHING! That means when people come here, all they will see is a black screen. It's like, how much blacker could it get and the answer is: None. None more black.

Seriously, though.....I think the current black/grey/red scheme works. I think those colors fit well with the metal theme.

some thoughts so far for the new version (which we are "designing" this weekend (Chris and I):

NEW FEATURES:
COMPLETELY NEW DESIGN
STREAMLINED CODE (just keep improving everything)
YAF 1.9.3 (making everyones life better on the forums/login procedure)
Articles (work better, custom graphics for each article)
Search - Add Full Site Search plus each individual category search
Release Dates - Simple List of up and coming release dates
Shows (get it running smoother, more updates)
News (RSS from other sites...we realize we can't possibly keep up with other sites so our news is going to become a pool from other sites so our news section becomes more of a ONE STOP SHOP for everyone.

REMOVED FEATURES:
Bands (no one is using it and google is fucking it up :))

Also, you INPUT is GREATLY NEEDED, especially if you have some great idea about the site.

For the FORUMS how about getting rid of the Buy/Sell/Trade and Article forms? No one hardly talks on those.
How about adding a downloading section and put up a list of albums available for download, and whoever downloads that album for review, it should say taken or something. Have more contests maybe that will draw more attention to our site/forums. As for other FORUM topics, why not come up with 1 dedicated to video games? I know there are female and male gamers.

We might get rid of Buy/Sell/Trade and Articles. I will probably not add a video game forum since the site has little to do with gaming. It doesn't have anything to do with movies either, but I think that would get used more than video games. As for the album download section, that is workarea only, not users and we are more focused on the USER site not the backend that we see right now. But maybe in the future.
