I went to the Opeth show Friday night and it was great. It was my third time seeing them, but first time seeing them headlining and it made all the difference in the world. They played 10 songs over almost 2 hours, which was twice as long as either of the previous shows I'd seen them do. The setlist included a lot of my favorite songs I had been wanting to hear and I left very happy. I missed the first band, Nachtmystium, who I know nothing about, but caught almost all of High on Fire's set and they were good, too. For anyone interested, Opeth's setlist was as follows: Heir Apparent The Grand Conjuration Serenity Painted Death Hope Leaves The Lotus Eater Bleak The Night and the Silent Water Deliverance Demon of the Fall Encore: The Drapery Falls Anyway, this show just further cemented them as my current favorite band. I love metal, but I also love a lot of other music, including a lot of stuff on the softer acoustic side. Opeth, for me, offers the best of both worlds. It's the only band I can think of where I can dance and sway to the music one moment , then let loose with the headbanging the next. Heir Apparent The Grand Conjuration Serenity Painted Death Hope Leaves The Lotus Eater Bleak The Night and the Silent Water Deliverance Demon of the Fall Encore: The Drapery Falls That must have been every song they ever made? Man were they on stage for 12 hours? hehe

But you know, if they wanted to play every single song they've ever done or play for 12 hours, I'd be happy to stay throughout the whole show! lol It's when murder is justice that martyrs are made. The stars are going out and the stripes are getting bent.

Ya Opeth is pretty darn good, I don't know personally if I could take 12 hours of it, but I am a fan. The only band I could handle 12 hours of is Britney Spears hands down.
